I would suggest that it would most likely capture kids 11 and up since I don’t think it would capture the attention of the younger ones. This is a great father-son tale and would be great for families to watch together. Regret is a powerful thing, but so is love. I really enjoyed the movie, and even more so the lesson it teaches.

This movie is a moving tale of nurture and love, something I feel like we all have inside of us just waiting to come forth, in Kingsley’s case, Mr. Then, of course, the real-life Pelicans are also stars in their own right. Finn Little is amazing as little Michael Kingley as is Geoffrey Rush as grown-up version. This is a beautiful film, one that will make you nostalgic for your own life stories. I also knew immediately that I would need to have a box of tissues ready for the waterworks this movie was gonna evoke. When I was contacted about the movie Storm Boy I had never heard of it but was intrigued by the synopsis provided.
